Sunday was our last day with our dog, Kyler. He wasn't feeling well so the kids pampered him, gave him a good brushing, really enjoyed him. Who knew that would be his last gift to us? One great spring day in the shade with the people who loved him was a great last day. He fell asleep that night and just didn't wake up. Kyler was old, like 14 years old, and was around before I was. I met Kyler when I met Dave. He watched Dave add me to his family and then we added 4 more. He was all the girls have ever known as a best bud and snow dog. They sobbed and sobbed when Dave told them he was gone. We made a stepping stone to put on his grave with his collar and some stones in the shape of a dog paw-print. They went with Dave to bury him in the mountains where he would love to be. We will sure miss our good friend.

These pictures made me sad in a way. It's so hard that one day they're with you and the next they're gone. But, I'm glad he was spoiled on his last day and was loving life. On a side note, look how cute your girls are??!!??
Awe -- what a rough time. I'm so sorry. Doggies are such a part of our lives. What a great way to use his collar - all dogs go to heaven...
How sad. I hope you're girls and Dave are feeling better. Those are great pictures of the girls and Kyler, and they will always have such good memories!
what a sweet dog....just look at him in these pictures. i hope everyone is doing better!!!
This post made me so sad! Of course my kids were always scared of your "big fluffy dog" when we use to come over to play at your house in Springville...remember that? That was a long time ago! What a tender mercy that your kids got to play with him one last time.
By the way...I miss you. Hope you are feeling better.
